Recently The Ontario Caregiver Organization hosted a webinar that focuses on Caring at Home: Getting Connected in the Home and Community Support Sector. This webinar features Carla, who identifies as a young caregiver for her mother. Carla provides caregivers with a range of recommendations that are aimed to ease the challenges that come from being a caregiver. Some of these recommendations include advocacy, respectful communication, being receptive to discussions, preparing and establishing a strong foundation, staying organized, incorporating technology when possible, and finally accepting that caregiving is always a work in progress. As young caregivers, it is important that we do not limit ourselves and the possibility of change we are able to create. Please take some time and watch this webinar.
