Young Caregivers › Forums › Hello world!
I like to listen to audiobooks or podcasts – that why I can lie down, relax, and disconnect by becoming absorbed in a story.
We use a calendar system and write the name of the person who will be responsible for that task – like “Neurologist Appointment – Sara”. But it’s tricky… I hope someone else has some tips.
I like those rotisserie chickens from the grocery store when I have no energy to cook – they can last for a few meals between dinner, sandwiches for lunch, sometimes I’ll make bone broth. I also buy bags of broccoli that you can microwave and steam in the bag. There are also bags of rice that you microwave as well. I haven’t tried a meal kit service, but that sounds easy!
I’ve been trying to be more present in my daily life as a form of self care. When I’m washing dishes, trying to fill immerse myself in the sounds and sights. I like crafting a way to fully engage all my senses as well, when I can fit in the time!
